Tammy Tested. Caregiver Approved.

The HomeBoundResources Seal of Approval is not just the leading indicator for products, services and resources we as caregivers like–it’s the ONLY indicator we know of!  That means the end result is user-centered and the people behind it are paying attention to the consumer experience.  We hope to formalize this in the industry by encouraging and rewarding the Empathic Design Process.  In our case, HomeBoundResources values your observations and invites you to share your comments with other caregivers in our community.  When–together–we identify valuable resources, we can honor those products with a Seal of Approval that lets developers know how much we value their commitment to serving our special needs. Click Here to Learn More … or for a complete list of products/services that are recognized for empathic design, Click Here!

The DashAway System

Tammy Tested. Caregiver Approved.  www.dashaway.net

Hands down, this is the best designed walking system we know of. The Parkinson’s Support Group in Burbank, CA brought the Dashaway to our attention at HomeBoundResources and we couldn’t get through our checklist for the Seal of Approval fast enough.

Stan Dashew, who’s ability to walk had been tragically impacted by Parkinson’s Disease, is the man behind the Dashaway. In the time it took him to bring the Dashaway to market, he went from five Vicodin a day for pain to being able to walk upright with independence.

The Dashaway is endorsed by the International Council on Aging, it is well built and reasonably priced by most standards at $1495.

Most of all, The Dashaway has demonstrated its leadership in preventing falls, encouraging positive posture, reducing the weight load on lower extremities, promoting walking as an exercise, functioning as a gait trainer and safe exercise device, and easily navigating on a wide variety of terrains.
